Duration: One year and a maximum of three years
Successful project management is based on sound development, evaluation and implementation of project management principles.
The purpose of this programme is to develop individuals with the necessary knowledge systems, intellectual competencies and practical skills to analyse, interpret, understand and apply project management principles, processes and procedures. Work-directed, problem and project-based work integrated learning will enable the individual to gain work related experience and apply their knowledge and skills in the workplace. The programme is delivered through distance learning, which provides much needed flexibility for the full-time employed individual.
COURSE OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion of the programme, students should be able to:

  • Gain general management knowledge and understanding of general management concepts, principles and theories.
  • Apply the above concepts, principles and theories in the project management context.
  • Effectively source relevant management information, evaluate, select and analyse appropriate information.
  • Apply sound financial management principles in the project management environment.
  • Practically fulfil the functions and roles that project managers are normally called upon to discharge as part of the required duties.
Admission Requirements
National Senior Certificate (NSC) with Higher Certificate endorsement plus English (1st or additional) 40% (E) Senior Certificate English SG D symbol or HG E symbol National Certificate Vocational (NCV) with English 40% National Certificate NQF Level 5 Supply Chain Management or relevant qualification (120 credits, SAQA listed programme) Please note: Prospective students over 23 years of age who do not meet the minimum requirements could apply to the Registrar for possible admission through Recognition of Prior Learning or gain approval to complete the OLG Higher Education Access Modules.
