National Certificate: Road Transport

TETA ACCREDITED PROGRAMME
The purpose of this programme is to facilitate training and educational opportunities for individuals currently employed in the southern African road transport industry or those wishing to pursue a career in this industry.

The qualifying learner will obtain the relevant underpinning knowledge of road transport operations in order to apply this to all assigned functions. This programme has been designed to address the specific needs as expressed by the road transport industry of South Africa.

admission requirements

It is assumed that learners accessing this programme are competent in Communication at NQF Level 2 and Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 2.

What can Students Expect?
Duration
1 - 2 years

This programme can be completed over a minimum duration of one year and a maximum of two.

Contact sessions will provide the learner with the interpersonal support for the learning to take place. Furthermore, a workplace component will allow the learner to apply knowledge learnt in a workplace environment.

Course Outcomes

This programme will equip the learner with some of the following skills required in this industry:

  • Applying basic road transport managerial principles
  • Applying safety, health and environmental protection procedures
  • Obtaining and communicating road transport operational information
