Wholesale and Retail Distribution

The certificate is designed for learners who are already employed and involved in the major areas of the distribution field and who want to pursue a career in the wholesale and retail industry, or in fields where this learning may be useful.
The purpose of this programme is to enable learners to understand and familiarise themselves with the underlying principles of all the major areas related to distribution within the wholesale and retail sector.

Learners will gain skills, such as the following:

  • Picking stock in a distribution centre/warehouse
  • Moving, packing and maintaining stock in a distribution centre/warehouse
  • Counting stock for a stock take
  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment in a distribution centre
  • Processing payment at a Point of Sales (POS)
  • Recording transactions
  • Processing road transport operational information
Admission Requirements
Learners who wish to enrol for this programme must be competent against relevant Numeracy and first language Literacy standards at NQF level 3.

Should you be employed kindly refer your interest in studying for a learnership to your Human Resources or Training Departments.

Please note that prospective learner who do not meet the admission requirement can apply to the Registrar for possible recognition of prior learning.
